BLESSING BAGS

Blessing Bags are very special to D.O. it for Denny because this would be Denny's favorite project. He was so passionate about helping people experiencing homelessness. He would feed them, have conversations with them and sometimes even hire them to help with his work in downtown Detroit. We will continue his legacy by providing Blessing Bags to people experiencing homelessness in Detroit every January and April in honor of his birthday and the day he passed away. We will distribute the bags at the Elevate Detroit Community BBQ. Since 2018 we have passed out over 500 blessing bags thanks to community support! This year, our Jr Kindness Crew is planning and running our Blessing Bag Project and they have already distributed 200 bags! We are so proud of these kids and their hard work on this projects!

VOLUNTEER

We have attended two Community BBQs with Elevate Detroit to pass out these blessing bags. We will be doing this again in January and April/May 2027 so stay tuned for more details!

We encourage you to join the Elevate Detroit BBQ that serves the homeless population every Satruday at 1pm at 3000 4th st Detroit! They are always looking for volunteers so just show up to start helping!
