BLESSING BAGS

Blessing Bags are very special to D.O. it for Denny because this would be Denny's favorite project. He was so passionate about helping people experiencing homelessness. He would feed them, have conversations with them and sometimes even hire them to help with his work in downtown Detroit. We will continue his legacy by providing Blessing Bags to people experiencing homelessness in Detroit every January and April in honor of his birthday and the day he passed away. We will distribute the bags at the Elevate Detroit Community BBQ. Since 2018 we have passed out over 500 blessing bags thanks to community support! In 2026, our Jr Kindness Crew will be planning and running our Blessing Bag Project!

VOLUNTEER

We will be putting Blessing Bags together on January 17th & May 2nd. You are invited to come join us!

January 17th 11-12:30 at Mt. Hope Congregational Church (30330 Schoolcraft Rd Livonia) to put together the bags.

January 17th at 1pm we will meet at Elevate Detroit (3000 4th st Detroit) to pass out the bags.

We encourage you to join the Elevate Detroit BBQ that serves the homeless population every Satruday at 1pm at the same place!
